Veterans Day is coming up, and it is the perfect opportunity to thank those who have served, and are serving, the military. And in honor of Veterans Day, you can also train like a solider. Check out the military style exercises below and incorporate them into your workout routine to look and feel strong and confident.
Go to Your Limit
Start by doing a 60-second round of pushups, doing as many reps as you can in that timeframe. Then head into a minute of sit-ups and another minute of pull-ups. Every time, you want to push your body to the limit. Finally, run for a total of two miles, going as fast as you can. These military style exercises will immediately start to test and build your strength and endurance.
On the second day of your intense workout routine, do three sets of your maximum number of reps of pushups within a 30-second time span. Then run for three miles at a moderate pace of around an 8-9 minute mile. Then do pull-ups or a rope climb for three sets until failure.
On the third day, do a forced march while carrying a rucksack that weighs 30 pounds. Try to do five miles in 1.25 hours.
Take rests in between these intense workout days, or spend your rest days doing stretching routines or low-impact exercises.
Focus on Your Core
Your core muscles are extremely important to your overall state of fitness, so you should work like a soldier to get your core into tip-top shape. Military style exercises for the core include hanging leg raises, side bridges, Supermans, and planks.
Do a set of 8 reps for every exercise except side bridge. When you get to side bridge, hold it for up to 30 seconds per side. Take a rest of about a minute in between each exercise.
Do Upper and Lower Body Workouts
Next, work your lower body and then your upper body. Start by sprinting for 8-15 seconds. Then do 20 squats, 12 pushups, and another sprint, followed by 25 dumbbell swings and 25 front squats to push presses. Finally, end your routine by doing 20 pushups.
Once you start performing these intense exercise routines, you’ll get a glimpse of what the training is like for the military professionals who serve our country. You should notice that your body starts to slim down and get stronger, especially if you’re taking a product like FenFast 375 for added weight management support.
